and the Soldier who brings up the rear –
Here’s to the men and women who serve
wherever it seems danger’s near.
Here’s to the SEAL, the Pilot, the Cook,
the Mechanics who work on the plane;
Here’s to the Nurse, the Doctor, the Corpsman
who bandage and soothe every pain.
My thanks to the Sailor, the Airman, the Sarge –
the Gunner, Marine, Chopper Crew…
Here’s to them all,
our daughters and sons,
beloved young ones.
They do it for me
and for you.
